Pote's Notes

From the Desk of the Potentate

Nobles and Ladies,

Summer just went flying by and it is now September. It seems the older I get, the faster it goes. The Imperial Session in Toronto is over and I believe all attendees had a great time. Our Hospitality Room was quite the hit. Many watched the two baseball games (Toronto vs. Milwaukee) during our stay. Toronto offered a lot in the way of fine dining and places to see. Again, it would not have been as much of a success without all of your help.

Our congratulations go to our newly elected Imperial Sir George Mitchell and his Lady Deanna and the Imperial Divan. This now includes the newly elected Imperial Outer Guard, Wayne Lachut and his lady, Janet, from Ismailia Shrine and our own NYOSA group.

The Temple picnic seemed to go without a hitch. All the ladies worked hard to make it enjoyable for all. Many thanks, ladies, without all of you, it would not be possible. Also, many thanks to all that brought salads and desserts. What we do at our Shrine Center can only get better with all of your participation.

The Hillbilly picnic at the Jack Norray farm was a great success. Many thanks to Jack and Ruth!

Fall MASA at Virginia Beach (9/8–9/12) will be over by the time you get the late fall newsletter, but I am sure all attending will have had a great time. I will fill in the blanks in the next newsletter.

Fall NYOSA is in Corning, NY from 9/30 to 10/3 and we will be again staying at the Radisson Hotel. I hope for a great turnout. The only way to make Shrinedom work and for you to have a lot of fun is if you participate. In addition to the business meetings and Parade, there is the Clown Competition as well as the Installation of NYOSA officers for 2011. See page 11 for information and registration.

The Fall Ceremonial will be November 20 at the Cyprus Shrine Center. Dan Kelly did a great job at the Spring Ceremonial and I am sure he will do a great job this fall. See pages 14 and 15 for more information.

I hope your Fall will be as good as your Summer was.

Yours In The Faith, Bob Zentner
